Privacy Policy

Older app builds: Some very old installs may still open memovana.com for privacy or support until each app ships an update. This page is the canonical Privacy Policy for MemoVana.

This Privacy Policy explains how the MemoVana mobile apps and the memovana.com website (the “Services”) handle information. “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of memovana.com.

This page is a consumer-facing description for the App Store, Google Play (when listed), and this website. It is not legal advice.

1. Who this applies to

This Policy applies to visitors of memovana.com and users of MemoVana on iPhone and iPad (and Android when distributed on Google Play) . Apple and Google have their own privacy practices for App Store / Play purchases, system backup, and platform AI features.

2. No MemoVana account

MemoVana does not require you to create a MemoVana username, email, or password on our servers. Optional Premium Continuity uses the iCloud account already on your device — not a separate MemoVana login.

3. Information on your device

Depending on features you use, the app may store on your phone or iPad:

• Voice recordings and speech-to-text transcripts you create
• Titles, tags, folders, summaries, action items, and open questions derived from your memos
• Decision register entries and links back to source notes (Premium extraction from your memos; Free may show a labelled example)
• Meeting Brief context built from your calendar (read-only) and your own notes
• Ask My Notes threads and search history confined to your device
• Lock / privacy classifications, widget configuration, and entitlement state from the App Store or Google Play

This content is processed to show your library, enforce Free vs Premium limits, and generate on-device summaries or Ask answers you request. It is not uploaded to MemoVana-operated servers as part of normal note-taking.

4. Permissions and on-device processing

Microphone and speech recognition

If you choose voice capture, MemoVana requests microphone access and uses on-device speech recognition to produce live captions and transcripts, including offline when iOS supports it. Audio and transcripts remain on your device unless you export them or enable Premium Continuity.

Calendar (read-only, optional)

With your permission, MemoVana may read calendar events to power Meeting Brief prep alongside your own notes. The app does not join video calls, record meetings remotely, or write calendar entries without your action.

Face ID / device passcode

Optional Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode can gate access to locked memos. Biometric data is handled by iOS — we do not receive your face or fingerprint templates.

On-device AI and Apple platform features

Summaries, tags, action items, Ask My Notes answers, and related wording are generated on your device from your memo text when you enable AI features and your device supports them (including Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models where available). When those features are off or unavailable, MemoVana uses local heuristics or shows limited excerpts — still without sending your vault to MemoVana-operated servers. We do not describe internal model prompts on this page.

Apple Watch (optional)

A companion watch app may send quick-capture payloads to your paired iPhone over Apple’s watch connectivity APIs for transcription on the phone. We do not operate a separate cloud inbox for watch capture.

Reminders and sharing

If you send action items to Apple Reminders or share exports, that data flows through Apple’s systems under your control. Exports you create (text, PDF, backup formats on Premium) leave the app only when you choose a destination.

5. Optional Premium Continuity (iCloud)

If you subscribe to Premium and explicitly enable private iCloud Continuity, encrypted memo data may sync through Apple CloudKit in your private database. Apple hosts that storage; we do not have routine access to read your Continuity vault like a cloud dashboard. You can turn Continuity off in app settings. Continuity is available for iPhone and iPad — there is no MemoVana Mac app.

6. What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not run third-party advertising or attribution SDKs in the MemoVana app (as of the last in-repo product verification).
• We do not use your memos to train public generative models.
• We do not provide medical, legal, or financial advice or services.
• We do not operate a meeting bot or call-recording service.

7. Purchases

Optional MemoVana Premium subscriptions (com.memovana.premium.monthly, com.memovana.premium.yearly) are processed by Apple through the App Store . We receive subscription status signals needed to unlock features, not your full payment card details. Plan prices, billing period, and any introductory offer eligibility are shown in the app and in store checkout before you confirm.

8. Support email and this website

If you contact support@memovana.com, we receive your message and email metadata to respond. The memovana.com site may log standard web server data (IP address, user agent, pages requested) through your host — we use that only to operate and secure the site.

9. Exports, backup, and sharing

You may export or back up memo content using in-app tools (formats vary by tier). Anything you send outside the app (email, AirDrop, files) is under your control and subject to the recipient’s policies.

10. Children

MemoVana is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our servers because we do not operate a child-facing login service.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy. We will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may also be noted in-app or on this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
