Privacy Policy
This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our iOS apps MemoVana and DreamerVana, and the memovana.com website. Both apps are local-first by design — no account required.
Information We Collect
We may collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, and any message you send through our contact form or support channels (support@memovana.com.
MemoVana and DreamerVana are designed so your content stays on your device by default. Neither app requires creating a MemoVana account or password on our servers. We do not operate a MemoVana backend that receives your notes, dreams, transcripts, or Ask questions for cloud AI inference.
MemoVana (voice notes)
Voice recordings, transcripts, notes, action items, folders, vocabulary terms, and related in-app content are stored on your device. When you tap Record, the app may request Microphone and Speech Recognition so speech can become text. On-device Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models), when available, may enrich summaries and Ask My Notes phrasing on your device.
Optional Calendar access (when you enable meeting prep from Profile or Home) is used only to read upcoming events for briefings and timelines — MemoVana does not create or edit calendar events. Optional local notifications remind you about action-item due dates. Optional export to Apple Reminders is initiated only when you choose that path. Widgets and Apple Watch capture use on-device App Group / Watch Connectivity to move audio and glance content between your devices — not a MemoVana server.
DreamerVana (dream journal)
Dream entries, interpretations, symbols, personal meanings, Vault locks, and related journal content are stored on your device. Voice capture may request Microphone and Speech Recognition. Optional Face ID (or device biometrics) can gate Vault browsing; per-dream lock keeps sensitive entries out of ordinary lists. Interpretations and Ask are reflective journaling aids — not medical, psychological, or diagnostic advice.
Optional Apple Health / HealthKit access (when you enable it) reads sleep data for chart context only. It is not used for sleep↔dream coaching or medical claims. Optional morning reminders use local notifications. Widgets and Watch quick-capture stay on-device via App Group / Watch Connectivity.
Optional Continuity (Premium, both apps)
Free use is local-only. With Premium, you may opt into private iCloud Continuity (CloudKit under your Apple ID). Sync is never auto-enabled when you subscribe. Data goes to your private iCloud container — not a MemoVana-operated content server. You can leave Continuity off. Preferences such as Face ID, theme, and some session history may stay device-local even when Continuity is on (see in-app Sync / Continuity help for each app).
Purchases
Optional Premium subscriptions are purchased through Apple’s App Store (StoreKit). Apple processes payment. We may see subscription status and product identifiers needed to unlock Premium features. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Website
For memovana.com, hosting and related tools may process technical request data needed to serve pages (for example IP address, browser type, and request logs). See Cookies below.
How We Use Information
- To provide and improve MemoVana, DreamerVana, and this website.
- To run on-device capture, transcription, enrichment, search, Ask, and related features you use.
- To support optional Continuity, Vault, widgets, Watch capture, and Premium unlocks when you enable them.
- To communicate with you about updates or support requests.
- To diagnose issues, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
- To analyze product and website performance at a high level where tools we use support that — without selling your personal information.
Retention
App content remains on your device until you delete it, clear it with in-app controls, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes local data on that device. If you enabled Continuity, private iCloud data under your Apple ID may remain until you remove it through Apple’s iCloud tools or in-app delete / sync controls where available.
We keep personal information from support or website contact only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Subscription billing and cancellation are handled by Apple.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of your personal information. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or request a copy of your data.
In the apps you can typically delete notes or dreams, turn Continuity off, revoke Microphone / Speech / Calendar / Health permissions in iOS Settings, and manage notifications and Face ID preferences in-app. Contact us below to exercise other rights we can fulfill for information we hold (for example support emails).
Our apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact privacy@memovana.com.
